Interoperability for music workflows.

Gig is built around standard documents, explicit user sharing and portable performance bundles so musicians can move between tools without feeling locked in.

Current draft for launch documentation

Formats Gig Understands

Gig accepts standard music documents and companion files through iPadOS document sharing. These notes are intended for app developers, automation builders and advanced users planning import/export workflows.

Open In

Apps can hand Gig a PDF score or Guitar Pro file through the native iOS document interaction flow. Standalone Guitar Pro files open as playable tab companions with a placeholder score entry.

UTType: com.adobe.pdf, me.jonathanramirez.gigpages.guitarpro

Portable Bundles

Gig exports single-score and setlist bundles for moving performance material between devices. Bundles can carry score files, metadata, annotations, notes, bookmarks, MIDI settings and companions.

Extensions: .gigpages, .gigpageset

PDF-First Library

The primary reader remains PDF-backed, which keeps imported sheet music compatible with broad iPadOS document workflows while allowing Gig to add music-specific metadata and companions around it.

Best fit: attributed score PDFs plus optional companions

MIDI & Stage Control

Setlist entries can send Ampero preset changes, Program Change, CC, Note, SysEx or custom multi-line MIDI sequences when a score changes during a performance.

Examples: CC n v, PC n, NOTE n v, hex SysEx bytes

Partnerships and Compatibility

If you build music creation tools, score libraries, practice utilities, page-turning hardware or MIDI workflows, the most helpful integrations are the ones that preserve user choice: standard PDFs where possible, explicit sharing actions, and clear metadata that travels with the musician's files.
